Question: Triumph Spitfire -How easy is it to tune twin SU\'S on the 1500 engine? At the moment it\'s running at idle with revs at 1000. As soon as I alter the idle screw to reduce the revs the engine begins to die. Any answers are most welcome.
Answer: Hi John - As with a lot of classic cars, the carb settings are very "touchy feely". They can also be influenced by things such as air leaks, poor linkages, worn carbs, tight tappets etc. I'd be happy to take a look for you if you're local.

Question: Hi Alan I have a 2003 Subaru impreza it\'s started smoking heavily still runs and boosts fine parked it up as soon as it started, first question how much would it cost roughly for you to rebuild my engine car has been mapped by yourself
Answer: Hi Zac - A full build costs from 3000 upwards, depending on spec. I would be checking the car out first before making a snap judgement about the engine. Would you be able to get it to us?

Question: Hi Alan, I have a naturally aspirated Starlet with modified air intake from filter to head, standard everything else. What other supporting mods would I need for an emanage blue setup, sensors etc? Also how much would I be looking at for emb install and map?
Answer: Hi Josh - With a naturally aspirated car I'd be concerned about how much you'd actually gain from that. Not much I suspect! The stock management will be doing pretty much all of it, and you'd probably only gain a small amount from perhaps getting a few more degrees of ignition in there. If I were you, I'd dig around to find someone else who has already done that and see what the results were. Bear in mind that all you are getting from any management system is fuel and ignition control.

Question: Hi Alan, Jaguar Bi turbo - Ive noticed something that confuses me regarding the plumbing for the internal wastegate. There is a hose from the high pressure side of the turbine housing to the wastegate as you\'d expect. But there is also a T off which goes to the solid turbo intake feed pipe (atmospheric). This does not make sense to me. Why have Janspeed done this?
Answer: It's just a bleed off, and being tidy, they've fed the waste air back into the inlet. You'll probably find some kind of control restrictor in there as well.

Question: Hi I have a 1999 v5 classic Impreza imported and I was wondering what power I can get out of her from putting a full stainless exhaust with a sports cat and a remap and would I need to upgrade my ecu before hand and how much would a remap be to have antilag, launch control and daul maps one for power and another for Pop and bang map?? And do you have any suggestions on what would be best?
Answer: Hi Thomas - We can map the original ECU using Ecutek software, although that still retains the rather marginal MAF sensors and doesn't allow for any options such as launch control or anti lag. This costs 550. Another alternative is to go for an Alcatek ECU. This would give you every possible option plus MAFless tuning and better mapping control. This costs 995 including vat to supply fit and map. We would anticipate around 270 bhp when set up with a sport cat, assuming you are running on 99 octane fuel.
