Question: ok then, just wanted to make sure charge temps would be safe for when i bring it up for the remap, i wanted to keep original turbo for quick spool up. i dont have any cats in exhaust system and its 3\" bore all way thru, i want as close to 300bhp as i can get with quick boosting? any suggestions, or would the remap put me close? and should i bother putting on the powertec induction kit for the remap or leave standard airbox? soz for all the blabber, just wanna get it right! lol cheers

Question: So after all 3 cats removed and full exhaust system, would the front mount be a good next step? i was thinking about bigger turbo, but i dont want really high bhp figure when its gonna be laggy for fast road use. Then obviously the ecutek remap to set it all up!
Answer: Hi Jord - If you aren't going for another turbo, I wouldn't worry too much about a front mount. You have the option of a larger top mount if charge temp becomes an issue.

Question: Hi Alan, I have an E46 M3 2003. Out of curiosity what are my tuning options? I gather the S54 Engine is pretty diffcult to extract extra power from. I already have a good cold air intake and good quality exhaust. Would something like a simtek or remap of the stock ECU make much of a difference? Any other suggestions?
Answer: Try Simpson Motorsport, who specialise in M3 tuning for racing use. these guys know their stuff!

Question: Hi Alan, ive got a subaru impreza turbo 2000 on a preg and when i was driving the top radiator hose blew off and is causing it to build pressure. there is no water in the system and i have checked and the oil and water isnt mixing so dont think its the head gaskets. pls could you advise what the problem is? ive been told its either the water pump or thermostat.
Answer: These don't oil/water mix anyway. The choices are a leak, causing overheating, and/or a head gasket problem. A common fault is the radiator leaking at the sides. If you have excess pressure of water, I'd suspect the head gasket right away.

Answer: Imprezas don't often oil/water mix so it may still be a head gasket. It's possible the cylinder pressure is leaking into the water system and blowing the water out of the pressure cap. They commonly suffer from leaks from the water pump as well as the radiator side tanks cracking. Refill it and see what happens!
