Question: Hello Alan I recently became the owner of a 205 gti and I have seen a custom Turbo Technics kit for sale. Do you do new ones and if so whats the damage? Regards Simon
Answer: Hi Simon - They are sadly no longer in production, but if you are lucky enough to find a second hand kit, we can do something with it!

Question: hi alan just wondered if you could tell me the symptoms of a blown head gasket on a 1997 subaru wrx sti? cheers darren
Answer: Continually emptying the header tank is a good pointer! what tends to happen is that the pressure from the combustion chamber leaks into the water system, then lifts the cap and blows the water out. This isn't so common on the STi,which uses metal gaskets, but is possible. Make sure you don't simply have a water leak, radiator problems are common.

Question: Hi Alan. 1993 WRX mapped at 1.15bar producing c.280bhp. I have a nearly new OEM rad and top and bottom hoses fitted... About a couple of months back I was hooning off a roundabout when it misfired on the limiter [2 of my coilpacks ideally need replacing]. When back on the dual carriageway, I noticed the temp gauge was vertical! This corresponded to my PFC reading 137C!. I immediately pulled over, cooled down and had to top up with prob 1-2(?) litres of coolant. Obviously, the high temp raised the pressure enough to open the cap to eject coolant (very wet by the expansion bottle by the battery). Would it be the misfire that caused the high temp/pressure? The car does run a bit hot anyway: gets to 97C in the urban crawl, but fans work okay and it does cool down to anywhere between 86-97C when going faster. But can also get up to 110C or so in stop/start traffic. It\'s been fine since - temp needle doesn\'t budge from centre. Do you think my water pump is worn and/or stat not opening fully? Or head gasket? Thank you, John.
Answer: A misfire by itself wouldn't cause overheating. Changing the thermostat certainly wouldn't hurt, also check for leaks from the water pump, which is not uncommon.

Question: Hi Alan I am about half way through a tank of Shell V Power in my 95WRX wagon and boy what a difference - Sainsburys Super it really did not like would not pull cleanly below 2.5k, Tesco\'s Super better, but still not brilliant at low revs - Shell - like a different car also seems to getting through it more slowly despite me \"enjoying\" it more! I think there is something more than the octane diff going on there! How much for a new fuel pump please - std or uprated for my 95 WRX wagon? Mine is getting a bit noisy and i may replace it before it dies! Also wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas!
Answer: Hi.. We prefer Shell V power! Bear in mind there is a certain amount of advanced learning capability in an Impreza ECU and they certainly like high octane fuel. We charge 95 for a Walbro pump and 50 to fit it, both plus vat. I tend to wear a badge around this time of year with "Bah Humbug" on it, but I'll accept your greeting in the spirit it's given! lol..
