Question: hi alan. thank you for your responce to my question. i asked about my nissan silvia and getting 600+bhp you said about 20000. you said to write back saying how much and you will try and sort out what could be done. 20000 is abit out of my price range. im willing to spend around 7 to 10000 so what could you achive from this and what would be done to the car.
Answer: Engine rebuild with forged pistons and steel rods. Flowed cylinder head. Hybrid turbo, quality stainless manifold and front mount intercooler. Uprated fuel pump and injectors. Apexi Power FC and boost controller. 385/400 bhp, which makes for a very quick 2wd car!

Answer: Hi Darren - You need to have the management checked out before you do anything else. There may be issues with air leaks, or failures of MAF sensor or lambda. The self diagnosis system might show something up.

Question: Hi Alan Looking for a low boost turbo kit for the Saxo 16v. Still would initially like to run on stock internals and engine management with remap as opposed to a standalone aftermarket setup. Also any ideas whether or not a turbo kit for the XU9 (MI:16) engine could be adapted to fit the TU5 engine in my Saxo. Thanks Lee
Answer: Hi Lee - there used to be a kit marketed by Van Aaken Developments, but I hear they have gone now? Apart from that, you could possibly fit a blower kit. The Mi 16 parts aren't even close..

Question: Hey there, I currently own a 350z that is pretty much standard. Sad to say I don\'t really know much about cars specification wise but I do like to drive fast. Put quite simply I want to go as big as I can and as fast as I can with the turbo in the engine. The thing that does concern me is that I have heard from people that you over charge and cars usually always come back with some kind of damage. Personally that don\'t bother me as I would expect any upgrade in the car to come with some elbow grease! Is it also true that you manipulate the results of the dyno tests so people think their cars are faster than what they really are? The only reason I ask is that everyone who I have asked about you never give a good feedback about you guys. Myself I like to be neutral, and thought you had a good outfit going on there...
Answer: Well, there's an introduction! My feeling is you are talking about another company? I could direct you to a hundred people who don't say those things about us. We tend to undercharge, but I can't imagine people always like to spend money on thier cars, and some will always complain about it, having no idea what it takes to fix some problems. As to causing damage, I'd like to know who said that, as I can only recall one or two minor scrapes in 25 years, and when you have cars in close proximity, and you're dismantling the things, careful as we are, things can happen. I just accept it, and send them off to the bodyshop. What else can I do? As a comparison, we recently rebuilt a 350Z that was dismantled by JFE Exeter, and came to us in a pile of bits with parts missing! the car is now perfect, and went back to the man unmarked. We have had NO insurance claims in getting on for three decades, the whole time I've been in business. Bear in mind we frequently are entrusted with cars costing the kind of money David Beckham spends..As to manipulating the dyno figures, you are definitely wide of the mark! I just couldn't be assed to play that game, and can prove it by comparing our figures with the "oppositions" dynos, who consistently give higher figures than ours. We have the dyno sheets to back that up. I tell it like is it, take it or leave it. As to your 350Z. We can supply and fit a twin turbo kit, we've done it already, 440 bhp to you sir, more if you have the budget, and if it comes back with more than a finger mark on it, I'll eat your space saver...

Question: Hi I was thinking of having a SIMTEK fitted to a WRX 95 wagon after I had fitted a FMIC - my budget has been knackered by a long term illness - will i get any benefits or problems from fiting a FMIC & induction kit fitted and not having the SIMTEK installed for a while or would it be better to leave it as stock? Also what are the benefits/problems of a TD04 turbo fitted to the wagon as a pose to the TD05 fitted to the saloon - if i could get one at the right price I was thinking of perhaps going for a TD05 and changing the ECU to either a saloon variety (I assume this will work so long as the year is the same?) or a SIMTEK depending on the budget etc Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for help - great site and I have found it very helpful as a Sccoby Newbie just reading through the posts
Answer: We have successfully fitted Simteks to otherwise standard 5 door cars, and made good gains. 250/260 bhp is perfectly ok, as long as you don't intend to seriously rag the car around. A front mount is a very good idea if you have intentions to go further with tuning, or you could compromise with an uprated top mount. You can go for a TD05, 280bhp is available using the standard injectors, and more if you want to change them.
