Question: hiya there alan i have a 95 uk impreza turbo and running a 96 sti ra ecu and car runs alot better than it has even done i would like to know if i can remap this ecu it will not boost past 14 psi just cuts on me and was told it needs aremap hope u can help thanks pete
Answer: Hi Pete- The ECU will cut over 14 psi as it's overboosting, and they aren't designed to run more than that. Professional tuners are all very reluctant to recommend anything for these other than a proper replacement aftermarket ECU such as Simtek. The 96 ECU can't be remapped. I would be reluctant to recommend using a nasty cheat such as a fuel cut device unless absolutely necessary.It may be possible to use an ESL chip which makes it tuneable, or go for a Simtek or Apexi ECU. We supply fit and map a Simtek for 995 inc vat.

Question: hi alan i own a mitsubishi lancer yr98 1.5l twincam engine(4g15 dohc).what can i do to get the most out of the engine &i wanted to know how much it will cost to chip the engine and how effective will it be in terms of bhp.any advice will be of great help cheers for your help.
Answer: Hi Ben- We very rarely see that model, and don't get involved in tuning them. I wouldn't say it's the most popular one to modify, so there may not be much available in the UK in the way of tuning parts. I'd say you may have to go further afield.

Question: i have a scooby sti ra and i was wondering how to fit an anti lag system and would it do any damage to my car
Answer: You would need to use an after market management system such as Gems or Simtek. Aggressive anti lag, as used on rally cars, can be effective, but potentially damaging to turbos. Fine if you don't mind replacing one for every rally, but a bind on the road! mild anti lag, as can be provided as a by product, can be useable without breaking anything and is just a bit of fun. We supply fit and map the Simtek for 995 inc vat, plus another 175 for the anti lag and launch control.

Answer: Hi John- No, you don't have to fit an FPR, it's just something that might be useful if your injector duty becomes marginal. Whoever maps the car for you will advise if this becomes an issue.

Question: Alan do you know if it is still possible to get the turbo technics manifold for a 2.0 injection pinto? And what turbo would you recommend prices would be good too if you can supply. Cheers Thomas
Answer: Hi Thomas- Give me a call on Friday on 01752 345880, I should know by then about a manifold. A T3 turbo would be correct for that one.
