Hi Alan i\'m a long suffering 2.8 turbo technics owner, I bought a couple of bits from you ie the vacuum capsule and the three stage warm-up reg. The car is still not running to my satisfaction and I intend to bring the car to you, however I live in London so would I have to leave it with you or could anything be achieved in 1 day (so I can arrange transport home). I want it to run 1 bar of boost.
Engine spec is as follows
rebuilt 2.8 bored +0.5mm (flat top pistons)
1.2 copper decompression plates
Felpro HD head gaskets
4x4 type bosch mechanical injectors (code 025)
T34 compressor front with 360 bearing and cut back blades in original exhaust housing (.63 I think)
3-stage fuel reg
vacuum advance/retard capsule
ported heads with new guides/seals
2.5 inch exhaust straight to backbox
I have a turbo technics additional injector controller (this is from a Pug 205 Turbo Technics). I am using this with a single green injector.
However considering the original porsche turbo 3.0 used K-jet and produced 300 bhp happily surely my system can cope by upping fuel pressure? My bosch injection book says a 2.8 cologne runs system pressure at 78psi and the porsche at 95.
The car basically splutters as it comes on boost. I am using BPR8ES plugs. All compressions are even @125psi
Hope this hasn\'t bored you, just wondering whether to bring it to you or scrap it!!
I'm sure we can sort it out, but I'd be taking a chance to say we could do it in a day! You're welcome to drop it here and leave it for a bit, then at least I can get to grips with it properly.
Of course you can't scrap it!
