Question: I have just fitted a new radiator to my 4x4 sapp cosworth, since I have done this I have noticed that the temp gauge on my dash is higher than it used to be. I made sure that I filled the system carefully making sure that there is no air in the system. The gauge is not going into the red, but am a bit concerned why it seems to be reading high. The car is not over heating to my knowledge, could it be that I should put a new thermostat in? If the orginal one is the orginal could by changing the antifreeze cause the thermostat to malfunction due to its age, the car is 15 years old and done 88000 miles. Thanks....
Answer: Hi.. We often find that just the act of removing a cylinder head etc. often does the same thing. I'd be inclined to suspect the accuracy of the gauge, especially as they aren't good quality items! I'd try a sender unit first..

Question: Hello, I have a Pug205 GTI 1600cc on an F plate. I am experiancing problems with the inital cold start, it starts and then stalls or nearly stalls, then after a short while the choke kicks in and it picks up. I have changed the Air flow meter, the S.A.D the engine temp sensor, and the ECU but the problems still there. I have also found once its warm I can set the engine to run at the correct RPM but then after driving it, it will either tickover at 1200rpm or around 650rpm, it never stays the same! what would you suggest I look at next.
Answer: Hi.. I'd check it for air leaks from the inlet manifold, these are notorious for that one. All 205 GTi's suffer from the same things, bad idle, hesitations on part load, and pinking. the object is to improve the faults by careful tuning. You can't cure them all! Any hint of other issues like tight tappet clearances etc can cause real grief. In truth, it takes a bit of experience to get these manageable.

Question: Hi, Are you able to remap a Bosch ECU (LH2.2) on a SAAB 900 16v Turbo? or do you just supply \"superchips\"
Answer: Hello Simon.. We aren't able to actually re map a Bosch ECU, but then again, I don't think anyone else could either, not live anyway. Superchips do them for some of the 9000 range, including the 93 and 95's but not the 900 models. Try Abbot Racing, who specialise in the Saab range.

Question: I have a Volvo V40 T4 (1948cc)Turbo, With supposedly 200bhp. What is the cheapest way to extract more power from the unit if possible? Also I would like it to sound just a little more aggressive. How should I fit a turbo boost guage.
Answer: A Superchip would sort that one right away for you, adding around 30 bhp with another 20% torque as well. A more free flowing exhaust could well do what you're looking for sound wise. Most manufacturers don't do much with Volvo, but there are places dotted around the Country that will make you one in stainless. The boost guage should be plumbed in to a manifold vac take off, I normally use the one attached to the fuel pressure regulator.
