Question: hi i have a FRST and it started to smoke on de-acceleration after a hard boost, i thought turbo oil seals, so i purchased a second hand turbo only a year old and the lad guaranteed it did not smoke. i put it on ran it up and it was smoking bad, after a while it cleared but once again after a heavy boost and de-acceleration loads of smoke. any ideas, cheers
Answer: Possible breather fault? make sure it's connected up exactly as it should be. The RS turbo is prone to oil by-passing the turbo ring seal if the system isn't correct in every way.

Question: My Laguna has recently had a problem with power when I first ask for acceleration. She will pick up slowly and then accelerate away perfectly ok. She had MOT yesterday and scraped through MOT emission test although everything else was fine. Its a 2litre 16v engine. Do you think she would benefit from being tuned, or is there some other problem that you can think of?
Answer: Hi.. Get a code read done first, to eliminate the easy stuff. This can be done at a dealer or specialist tuners.

Question: hi again, i did originaly replace it with a 55000 about a week ago, and was planning to slowly rebuild it and maybe use it as a spare. but it turns out the one i replaced it with also has a problem, the bottom end is on the way out. so i am now looking for a third engine as i am short of time it will take a while to get the other one back in good nick. i did have a rebuild priced up on the 55000 but i was told it would be better to replace it.

Question: Hello. I am looking at purchasing a set of side drafts for my 1300 race prepped triumph engine. As Webers are very expensive I was looking at possibly fitting dual 45's made by a Japanese company called OER. The dealer say's that he can decrease the choke size for my application. This is mainly a track car but I do like to take it out on nice summer days. How much streetability do you think I might lose using 45\"s
Answer: Hi.. Never seen those! sounds interesting though. I'm inclined to say that 45mm is too big for 1.3 and you'd struggle to get it right. Choking them down will improve the situation if you HAD to use them. Dellortos are available, and a bit cheaper than Weber.
