Question:
Hi I have an Opel Ascona 1600 with a big bore exhaust manifold and system and also twin 45 dellorto downdraught carbs .When you floor the throttle it has a major flat spot which almost stalls the car when stationery and on the road the car feels dead .the carbs were supposedly jetted for a standard 2 litre car .I also have a ported head and piper 285 cam to go on soon which I was hoping might help .could you please give me any ideas many thanks Darren |

Hello Darren Retro car! love it.
Either it's not jetted right, or you have a fault, such as blocked pump jets or duff pump diaphragms.
These carbs are all getting on a bit now, and corrosion can cause this sort of thing. A rolling road session should identify the bugs. |
