Question: just a short message to request info on the turbotechnics convesion for xr3i (1989). Myself and a friend intend to carry out the project which appears to be straight forward, however we are unsure if xr3i pistons should be sufficient, or would rs turbo items be required, any advice or leaflets will be appreciated .
Answer: You would be better off using RS turbo pistons, as the compression ratio is a bit high with the XR ones... In fact, you would be better off using the whole car.. RS that is....it all comes with it !

Question: I have a Vauxhall Carlton (H Reg)! Problem at the moment is the 2.00GLi had a timing belt change - it has been a very smooth car to drive until then - now the car makes a rumbling ticking noise and seem to come from the timing belt area - is this common - the garage say the engine is old (116,000 miles)- but i say it was fine before the timing belt change. Could the timing be out ?
Answer: think it's unlikely that the cam timing would cause a noise. If the timing was out, you would very likely notice a power loss. It may be a good idea to check the belt tensioners, also the front pulley tension, as they would need to slacken those to change the belt, and may have over tightened them afterward, causing a rumble from the alternator.

Question: hiya Ive just bought an e reg uno turbo and i was wondering if there was any tuning ideas u could recomend??????and how much they would cost?
Answer: You can run these cars at one bar boost ( 14 psi ) with no problem, assuming it is in good order. I would recommend a rolling road session to do this .....It will thus go like the wind !
