Question: Hi Alan Not sure if you would be interested in doing work on a type 4 engine from a camper van? The engine was very underpowered and had poor compression (best cylinder read 85). I have taken the engine to bits and I was wondering if, initially you could measure up the barrels and pistons and see if they are too badly worn, and give me a price for boring the cylinders? Also, I was wondering if you would take a look at the heads for me, and see if the valves need re-seating etc? My dad is coming up from Cornwall on Tuesday, would you have any availability to look at them if I ask him to drop them in? Thanks for your help Greg
Answer: Hi Greg - Yes, we can work with those engines, just ask him to drop in and we'll take a look.

Question: Hi, I\'ve got a toyota Landcruiser Lj78 (2.4 turbo diesel Auto) and i find it very under powered ... is there anything i (or anyone else) can do to it to get a bit more guts out of it. Cheers Carl
Answer: Regret, nothing listed, I'm guessing it's a mechanical system and not tuneable electronically.

Question: Hi Alan, Fiesta ST I\'m looking at getting a full Milltek exhaust system (resonated one for the quieter tone) but as my wage won\'t let me buy it in one go i will buy the cat-back section first. How much will the Resonated Milltek cat-back cost including fitting please?? Thanks Adam
Answer: Hi Adam - We fitted a non resonated Milltek to an ST this week, nice easy fit and it sounded great, proper sporty! The non resonated one comes in at 450 delivered and fitted inc vat, I believe the resonated one adds another 45. 01752 345880 business hours to order.

Question: Hi Alan, 2.9 Sierra Sorry,I was referring to the six stock items.
Answer: The stock ones are green if that helps! TT wouldn't have changed them as they are running on the stock management. The two extra injectors are run by a seperate ECU using a map sensor. Have you a dyno nearby? it sounds like it all wants checking out.

Question: Hi Allan, I have an F73 TT kit i want to fit to my 2.9 XR4X4, when stripping the kit off the old car i see the oil return pipes from the turbos are drilled and tapped into the front of the sump, Is there any other way of feeding the oil back from the turbos as i dont want to remove the sump from the car to drill it. If i were to fit an oil cooler could the returns from the turbos be fed into the oil cooler pipes? if so would the oil filter extension from a cosworth BOA engine fit the 2.9 Cologne? Thanks very much Keith
Answer: Hi Keith - The drains have to be fed into a low pressure area, so the cooler pipes won't be any good. You can get away with drilling the sump in situ if you're careful. Use a heavily greased drill and go very slowly. You'll find the swarf will tend to fall outside or stick to the drill. Ditto tapping the sump. The small amount of alloy swarf about shouldn't cause a problem. TT describe that method as being part of the build.
