Question: Hi Alan, I have a 2003 audi tt v6 coupe, can you reccomend a good exhaust system that you supply ? I\'m after a cat back system with a nice sound !! also how much would it be to superchip the car and is the difference very noticible after the work ? cheers
Answer: Hi Ben - We are Milltek dealers, and I'd say they offer the best systems going. They offer a non resonated cat back system that costs 495 inc vat, I'll offer that carriage free. Fitting only 30 inc vat. Yes, we can Superchip the car, it costs 249 inc vat and adds around 10 bhp. We can also offer an airbox conversion for 85 using a Jetex air filter element. Question: i currently have a 2007 seat leon. on my return from afghanistan i am looking to have a miltek exhaust (dual exit) and to have either re map or superchip cuyrrently running 211 BHP what do you think i will gain and what is the better option and what would it cost i have abudget of 2500 and am open to all diffrent things so please could you advise me. i hav eben reccomended by stuart with kevs old scooby
Answer: Hi Lee - We would be very pleased to help you with that. The Milltek cat back exhaust comes in at 585 inc vat for a dual exit non resonated system (louder) or 678 for the dual exit resonated system (quieter!) We can also offer a sport cat and large bore downpipe system for 748 inc vat. As to remaps we can offer a few options, including the Superchip at 455 inc vat. This adds around 40 bhp and 40 lbs ft torque. Excuse this getting complicated, but bear with me! If you go for either of the cat back systems, the Superchip would be ideal. If you choose the sport cat option as well, we would need to arrange custom remapping, which we can deal with. As a package, the cat back and chip costs 1040 and would add 40 bhp. The sport cat and downpipe with the cat back system and custom map would cost 1783 and would add around 75 bhp. Hope all that helps!

Question: hello, after my engine spun a rod bearing a year or so ago i rebuilt it to this rough spec: ej257 with nitride crank, eagle h rods, wiseco pistons, acl race bearings, fmic, td06sl2 turbo etc and then shortly after the gearbox blew up! i\'d like you to install and map simtek ecu for me but my question is what do you reccomend for a gearbox setup as i\'m hoping for high bhp? (not sure how much though) oh, and how much do you charge for the simtek? thanks in advance
Answer: Hi Steve - There are one or two options for the 5 speed, beginning with getting it rebuilt and going on from there. We managed two seasons of drag racing at 550 bhp with a box with decent bearings in it! The alternative is to go for a gear kit, although they start at 2k plus vat.. Assuming you are running a classic the Simtek is 995 supplied fitted and mapped. Call on 01752 345880 for details.

Question: i recently bought above petrol car from a dealer. took it to a mechanic to have it checked and timing belt fitted. Mechanic informs me that engine is a 1.1 as the timing belt he had ordered for the car did not fit and had to use a 1.1 timing belt. can this be possible, log book etc states the car is a 1.4. is there anyway of proving car has a 1.1 engine, mechanic tried to locate engine number which he did but after a few telephone calls to peugeot, this engine no does not seem to be able to be clarified. what do you think? car is obviously illegal, car dealer disputes my claim so i need proof that engine is a 1.1, not 1.4
Answer: Hi Pauline- My belief is that the crankshaft stroke is different on the 1.4 as opposed to the 1.1, this is easy to check. Basically the piston moves up and down the bore a very specific amount relative to the throw on the crank. If your mechanic puts a measuring rod (screwdriver?) down the plug hole, he should be able to measure the amount that the piston goes up and down as he turns the engine over. I believe there is an 8mm difference between the two types. Peugeot usually use crank throw to make the capacity difference with these engines. I'm guessing it's a 206? in which case the 1.1 had a 69mm throw and the 1.4 has 77mm. We've seen the wrong engine fitted to cars many times, although it isn't as easy to do as it once was due to engine management differences. If you're local we can check it for you of course.
