Question:
Hi Alan,
i currently have a robin reliant engined trike. The engine although in good condition simply does not have the power and torque.
i have been told by the person who built the frame that the 1.6 pinto engine and box should slot in with little changes. Just so happens i have such an engine and a type 9 box in the garage.
Would you guys be able to do the swap (as it may require moving engine mount brackets, etc etc) And if so.. any idea of ballpark costs for such work.
Thanks |

Answer:
Hi Toby - The Reliant engine is actually quite tuneable, as it's used by the 750 motor club for racing. It may be worth investigating tuning your current engine rather than start again with another one. The Pinto engine is much heavier, and quite sluggish. If you're interested, drop in sometime, and we'll discuss it. |
