Question: i have a kwp 2000 + mapping tool, i have remapped several 306 hdi\'s with the big single plug to the ecu with a remap file 362 i have tried to remap a later 306 hdi with a ecu with 3 single plugs with the same map file and it didnt work i have got a different map file which is 594 or 594 + 5 % and not sure to put it in or not they are both 512kb in size

Question: Hi Allen, What can be done to a 2.9 Cologne engine to improve it\'s performance? ie bigger pistons, valves, porting, re mapping etc..
Answer: All the normally aspirated rules apply, in terms of increasing gas flow by head work and cam choice. They don't respond as well as some other engines, and don't appreciate too much overlap. Specialised Engines used to supply stroker set ups for these, although back in the distant past! I'd say an exchange for the Cosworth 24 valve version is a viable proposition, assuming you can still find one.

Question: hi there ive got a saxo vts 2001 with a 4-2-1 manifold on with a decat i was just wondering if you have any suggestions on how i might be able to get more power e.g different cams, chip ,remap. cheers tom
Answer: Hi Tom - Without getting into a new management system or Supercharging etc, I can only recommend a Superchip and decent induction kit. I'd say a cam swop would be more about raising the rev range than actually adding much power.

Answer: Hi Chris! The choices are stock engine with low boost low power, or built engine with higher boost and high power. The kits cost around 2500 plus a grand to install properly. With a forged motor, anything up to 10k by the time you have a management system to run it.

Question: Hi Alan, Just fitted a stage one kit to my mini and i am having a few problems with the mixture. Fitted AAM Needle, to rich. Do you reprofile the existing needle filing/polishing? and how much %CO levels would you expect through the rev range? Cheers Phil.
Answer: Hi Phil - If it's too rich already, it's no good doing any filing! You may need to start again with another needle. As a normally aspirated car, you'd hope for .9 lambda more or less. If you'd like us to sort it for you, just give me a call.
