Question: Crankwalk seems to be setting in on my 4 block which is nearing the 60k mile mark. As it stands the walking must be mild as my only symptom (just started) is ticking around the crank pulley area. First off I would like to get it check out to see whether or not it has moved out of mitsubishis tolerance band. If it has only mild walking would replacing the thrust bearings be sufficent? What would be the rough cost of this? The other option is dropping in an evo 5 or later engine. Could you give me a price for carrying this out both with & without me supplying the engine. I can bring the car around during the week for a better look. Regards Will
Answer: Hi Will. I'd have to make some phone calls on that one! Please drop the car in, and we'll take a look, just let us know when suits you.

Question: hi alan, how many more horses and torque\'s could i expect if i get you to superchip my e36 325i ? thanks, matt
Answer: Hi Matt - they quote 12 bhp. The gains would be more likely felt on part load and mid range, certainly making the car smoother.

Question: Hi Alan, I have a 2003 WRX which was re-mapped by yourself a couple of years ago. For the past year or so it produces some smoke when idling for a while. It is very intermittent though and does not seem to use oil or water. Could it be something to do with the fuel? I always use V Power. Thanks for your time.
Answer: Hi James - Best bet is to pop it in and let us take a look, all sorts can happen over that time period!

Question: Hi - I am having an overboost problem with my95 wrx wagon since i fitted a sport cat - it just boosts up too quick now and overboosts - this is not a problem on the standard wagon ECU - with old CAT would boost to .7 bar perhaps a shade over, with the sport cat it will boost anything up to 1.0 bar! This problem is agravated if I run it with a Sccobychip ECU (generic td04 map) which raises boost to approx 1 bar with cutoff at 1.2 - it will over boost past 1.2 & induce boost cut. The boost solenoid is really on it\'s last legs & I have a replacement, but will that cure it or do I need to look elsewhere please? Perhaps a larger restricter pill would help or something else - sadly not local enough to call in. Thanks ANdy
Answer: I'd try it with the pill out to start with. That should reduce the boost, enough so you can run it while you save to get it sorted properly!
