Question: Audi TT - hi there again thanks for getting back to me. i forgot to ask is there a limit on miliage befor something like this should be done. mine has done 46,000. also is there any kind of upgrades i need to have carried out befor getting a superchip. can something like this cause damage to any components at all aswell. i am just a bit worried as i dont have a mass amount of funds and cant affordto be repairing it everyweek with other things. cheers jamie
Answer: Hi Jamie - There are no underlying issues with this conversion and no reason to change anything else, other than to run the car on high octane fuel as much as possible. The mileage isn't an issue, in fact during the 20 years we have been offering Superchips products we have never experienced any kind of failure as a result of a conversion. The Audi intake set up is finely balanced, and we wouldn't recommend the use of induction kits or dump valves.

Question: hi there. i own a 2002 audi tt 1.8t 225hp. do you guys do an ecu remap for these cars at all. i live in helston in the depths of cornwall and cant think of anybody close who can do this. is this is possible how much money would we be talking and what sort of power gain could be achieved. thanks Jamie
Answer: Hi Jamie - We do a conversion from Superchips that adds up to 50 bhp and 60 lbs ft of torque. The result is much more power and grunt especially in the mid range. The cost is 399 including vat. The process is done using a laptop and takes around 1.5 hours. 01752 345880 office hours to book!

Question: HI THERE THE CAR IS A WRX IT HAD THE SCOOBY CLINIC PACK WHICH INC TURBO FUEL PUMP AND REMAP WHICH TOOK IT TO 305 BHP I BOUGHT THE CAR AND AFTER 2 WEEKS PROBLEMS STARTED TO HAPPEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE BOTTOM END HAD GONE PRIOR TO ME BUYING THE CAR AND THEY HAD REPLACES IT WITH A NON TURBO BOTTOM END UNIT AND IT WAS JUST STRUGGLING TO DO ANYTHING REALLY IT WAS LEAKING OIL ECT AND TURBO WASNT BOOSTING PROPERLLY EITHER I THEN FOUND OUT THAT THE PISTON RINGS HAD GONE TOO ALL THSI AFTER 2 WEEKS!!!! YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW I FELT AND ALSO HOW I WOULD STRUGGLE TO GET THE RIGHT SORT OF INFO AND MECHANIC TO GET THIS THING BACK ON THE ROAD THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD WORK DONE AND IT WAS JUST A SHAMBLES THE TURBO HAD GONE TOO ASWELL THE BLADES WHERE SHIFTING SO I HAD BOUGHT SOMETHING THAT WAS A NIGHTMARE... A FRIEND OF A FRIEND OWNS A SUBARU GARAGE AND HE HAS A 500 BHP STI BUG EYE, GT30 FULLY FORGED AND INJECTORS AND FRONT MOUNT... Answer: OK, there seems to have been a few issues going on there! We wouldn't have any difficulty sorting all that out for you. As you say, the best bet is to pop in and see us. I'll show you what we are capable of, and I'm sure you would be happy to let us take care of it. Please come in whenever you like, our hours are Monday to Friday 9 till 5.30, and Saturday 9 till 2, although we are off to the Japfest this coming Saturday.

Question: i have been lucky enough to own a subaru 02 bugeye for the past year. when buying the car my plans where to do some slight mods exterior and engine but with me only really using it for weekends and with a new baby to the family i just havent had time... the car is 305 bhp and has had some work done at scooby clinic prodrive pack ...new turbo,fuel pump remap and also prodrive brake pack i have come into a bit of money and would like to do as much as possible for the money i have and hopefully gain as much power as i can i have around 8000 uk pounds to spend could you please tell me what i could achieve for that inc labour
Answer: Hi Craig - I'll assume it's an STi based on your power figure. the best deal in town as we speak is the 2.1 stroker option. This buys you a tough, reliable engine with better torque and better spool from any turbo. This route is well proven, with well over 500 bhp on tap for those who want it. We'd start by fully rebuilding your engine, using a new 2.5 crank, Cosworth engine bearings, head gaskets and sump baffle plate with Wiseco pistons and K1 H beam rods. We rebuild the heads and fully balance the assembly. All work is carried out under our roof. We would need a front mount intercooler, higher flow injectors and I'd strongly recommend a Simtek ECU. I'd like to know what turbo has been fitted? We can offer packages to run to a comfortable 400 bhp onwards falling within your budget.

Question: thanks alan, the car runs fine, everytime i tank the cap off the header tank the water rushes out tho. the onboard check engine light gives a code for Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.
Answer: You aren't supposed to take the cap off unless the engine is cold! As long as it's topped up from cold, it should be ok. You can give us a call on 01752 345880 if you'd like to discuss it?
