Question: hi alaln after watching hillclimbing at warrington on the weekend me an a friend are thinking about starting in the 1400cc to 1800cc class, we was thinking about getting 2 ford pumas 1.7\'s, coz they seem quite light an cheap, is there much u can do to these to make them a bit quicker, staying with-in the rules of course, thanks chris.
Answer: Hi Chris - Yes, they are tuneable, although have you thought about buying just one, pooling resources, then double driving it? just as much fun, at half the cost! All the usual normally aspirated rules apply, with regard to gas flowing, better cams, throttle bodies and management systems etc. 200 bhp is on!

Question: hi alan i have a 93 wrx which is standard wot would be the best reasonably priced performance upgrade u could offer as i am intrested in uping the bhp thanks
Answer: Hi Shaun - The best bet would be to install a Simtek ECU. It would allow full mapping, and even with just a de cat down pipe you'd gain 40 bhp at least, and a lot more torque. the cost is 995 including fitting mapping and vat.

Question: hi there, i have recently had an evo 4 imported from japan, i am looking to do some upgrades. was wondering if u had any ideas on which fuel pressure regulator to use e.g. sytec or standard fse or others? thanks kyle
Answer: Hi Kyle - Nice to talk to you today! As I said, it would be best to check the car out on a dyno first, to see where you are before making the next move. I wouldn't fit a regulator if you don't need one.

Question: Hello, please could you give me a price for a 2.1 stroker rebuild on my 99 sti version 6. drive in drive out. i have fmic, vf35 turbo, decat exhaust and just wondering if i would need to upgrade the injectors, fuel pump etc. Your advise would be much appreciated. Thanks
Answer: Hi Muzzy - We have one particular 2.1 conversion we offer, but there are others. The one I'm thinking of uses a new 2.5 crank, Wiseco pistons, K1 H beam rods and Cosworth engine bearings, head gaskets and sump baffle plate. We use an RCM oil pump and ARP head studs.The blocks are carefully prepared and we use stress plates for boring and honing. We balance the assemblies. We fully overhaul the heads. We paint the castings, and clean the engine bay. I personally run the engines in for the first 50 miles, and the oil and filter is replaced again before going back to the customer. This is a full drive in drive out and comes in at 4050 including vat.

Question: Hi Alan, looking for some help in setting up my TR6, regarding timing and fuel settings, do you have some old fashioned gear such as vacuum gauges etc to use on my Car?
Answer: Yes, although a good result depends as much as anything on the pump set up, which needs to be done on a bench.
