Answer: Not one we'd tackle, as you have to do so much work. If you'd like a turbo Escort, you'd be better off buying a nice classic RS version.

Question: Hi Alan hows trade? Can you advise me on what I should be doing fuel wise for my classic impreza now that v power wont be available for a while? Would it be better to go for shell normal unleaded and add an octaine booster or use tesco super with or without octaine booster? If you recomend a booster what make would you suggest? I know a simtek would be best but cant afford it at the mo!! Thanks very much
Answer: Hi Steve - As far as I know it's still available locally. Hopefully supplies won't be a big problem! I'd say you're going to be better off with the higher octane fuel to start with. Tesco apparently do a 99 octane fuel, maybe you can use that! The NF is supposed to be good, just make sure you are very accurate with the use of it.

Question: Hi I read that forged pistons have a shorter life. When they do go, what needs replacing. Is it just a case of the rings wearing or does the cylinder and piston take any of the damage? Thanks Jake
Answer: Hi Jake - I wouldn't say that! There is no reason for the wear rate of a forged piston to be any higher, rather the forged piston is likely to get more stick!

Question: hi alan i read in some of previously asked questions that it would be possible to make a turbo convertion kit for my xr2 out of rst components. could i please have some more information on this? difficulty? could you do the work? and price? thanks
Answer: We could, price around 1500 at a guess, although there would be a few questions to answer first. The RS manifold and turbo would go right on a CVH engine. The rest would depend on whether you go for fuel injection or a carb.

Question: Hi Alan, I have a completely standard 1995 Eunos 1.8i (apart from performance leads and sparks). I was wondering whether it would have lost any power in it\'s lifetime or if there is any modifications that would improve it\'s performance. What sort of performance gains could I expect, if any? Answer: Hi Phil - There are things that can be done with these, and a few specialists exist who may be able to advise you further. I've seen several turbo versions! The early ones have some ignition adjustment from memory, so can be tweaked. Your best bet is to search online.
