Question: hi alan, i sent you a question over 2 weeks ago about my radiator fan not working because my relay got burnt and ive had my fan cooling switch changed about 8 times in the past 10 months, and you said to ask my mechanic to check the earth so he did also i had another radiator fan cooling switch put in, the car was fine for 2 weeks but 2 days ago the fan stopped working again and the fan cooling switch is the problem, why does the fan cooling switch keep blowing, i just dont understand??? also when the fan did come on the temp was above normal, but the fan stays on for a very long time before it goes off, when the temp gauge is right to the bottom?? thankyou so much for your time.
Answer: The switch is responsible for controlling the fan, but shouldn't be carrying much current, that's what the relay is for, the switch should just provide enough power to operate the relay. At this stage, I'd suggest getting an auto electrician in there, who may be able to make more sense of the system. It sounds like it's either shorted, or wired up wrong.

Question: What would it cost, for me to bring in a evo 6 GSR for it\'s standard 5,000 mile service ?
Answer: Roughly 125, depending on whether or not it needs plugs (35) plus another 110 for the AYC fluid change and check over, which we sub out to the Mitsubishi dealer.

Question: Alright guys just a quick one I vam looking at buying a evo 6 GSR And was wondering when they get services ever couple thousand miles what needs to be done. Can it be done at home or does it need to be taken to a specialist?? Cheers
Answer: It's all about the rear AYC fluid, which needs to be changed regularly. Five thousand miles is more like it. I'd say a specialist or Mitsubishi dealer is better placed to do it, just make sure that wherever you go they can actually do it properly.

Question: How long after you start an engine should you wait before driving off with forged pistons and how long do they last ? Thanks
Answer: You can drive off pretty much right away, just take it easy during the warm up period, like you always should really. There is no reason why forged pistons won't last as long as any other, it just happens to follow that most people who go for forged pistons tend to drive the car hard!
